NDC Urges Public To Ignore Any Primary Election Results Circulating Online

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on the public to disregard unofficial results purporting to be the outcome of its nationwide primaries held on 28 and 29 May.

In a press statement released on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director Esq, said that the only authentic results are in the custody of the National Executive Council (NEC), which is solely responsible for any official announcement.

“The general public is hereby urged to disregard the various results circulating on social media as the outcome of the nationwide primaries conducted by the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC on the 28th and 29th of May, 2026,” the statement read.

The party further confirmed that a NEC meeting has been convened on the orders of its National Leader, former Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Seriake Dickson.

According to the statement, all NEC members are required to arrive in Abuja for a pre-NEC meeting on Tuesday, 2 June, with the main NEC meeting scheduled for Wednesday, 3 June 2026.

“The general public and stakeholders will be availed of the results of our primaries when we send the list of candidates to fly our party’s flag to the INEC,” the statement added.

The NDC urged party supporters and the general public to remain calm and await the official announcement from the NEC.
