The Southern Nigeria Peoples’ Mandate, SNPM, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to stop threatening the lives of Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Coalition, NDC, and other opposition parties or frustrating their participation in the forthcoming 2027 general elections in the country.
SNPM also called on all Nigerians to rise and challenge what it identified as the undemocratic behavior of this present Tinubu administration.
Chairman/Founder of the Mandate, Augustine Chukwudum who made the call in a press statement titled: “SNPM reacts to alarm raised by Obi concerning how he is being frustrated out of the 2027 presidental election”, further called on the United Nations, UN, African Union, AU, Amnesty International, AI, Commonwealth of nations, British government, US President, Donald Trump, German Chancellor, Canadian Prime Minister, Italian President, other world leaders and human rights organizations to checkmate the activities of this incumbent Tinubu admunistration which he accused of doing everything humanly possible to stop Obi from contesting 2027 presidental election.
SNPM noted that this reaction became imperative following the way and manner the APC-led federal government under Tinubu has been frustrating Obi for the past three years.
The statement recalled that Obi had in a chat with social media presenter, Chude, alleged that the way he is being frustrated and harassed all over the country, to the extent that he does not know whether he will be alive or not to contest the desired 2027 presidential election.
The statement further quoted Obi as having raised some issues such as the recent harassment done to him at the Airport where he parked his car alongside others, only for the person in charge of the car park to harass him with reckless abandon, despite introducing himself, and yet the person told Obi to his face that he does not care who he is.
SNPM said this attitude is a sign to the world that this APC- led Government is doing everything humanly possible to ensure that Obi does not contest next year’s presidential election because it is obvious to them that Obi is the Messiah that shall deliver Nigerians from evil and the bondages of bad governance that has turned Nigerians into beggars.
“Instead of using our common wealth freely given to us by God Almighty to develop this great nation, they are busy looting the wealth and diverting it into their private pockets while the majority of Nigerians are dying of hunger”.
“It is a pity that this administration does not give a damn because its agenda is to ensure that things get worse daily, and despite public outcries, it is pretending as if it is not aware of the sufferings millions of Nigerians are being subjected to in this country”.
