Uwazuruike Calls For Dividing Nigeria Into 6 Countries To End State-Sponsored Insecurity

By Chuks Eke—

Founder and leader of Biafra Independence Movement/Movement for Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra, BIM/MASSIB, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike has charged leaders of Western countries at the ongoing 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81), including the United States President, Donald Trump, to take more practical steps to divide Nigeria into six different countries.

He said by so doing, the issue of insecurity in Nigeria, which is believed to be state-sponsored, would become a thing of the past.

A press statement issued by Mazi Chris Mocha, BIM/MASSOB’s National Director of Information, quoted Uwazuruike as saying that

granting Independence to the existing six geo-political zones of Nigeria, namely: South East, South West, South South, North Central, North East, North West, would be ideal to douse all the current political, economic and security tensions in Nigeria.

According to Uwazuruike, “if someone living with you wants to go home, it will be useless of you to say no to such a demand as is the case in Nigeria today, where the East wants to go but the North and West perhaps too said no, you can’t go. You must remain with us so that we will continue to be ruling you anyhow we want”.

Describing BIM/MASSOB as an organization firmly and genuinely working for the Independent State of Biafra through non-violence, Uwazuruike said he has consistently followed the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi, the Indian apostle of non-violence.

According to Uwazuruike, who is an Indian trained lawyer, “if there were no event like the Indian struggle for Independence, there would have been nobody like Mahatma Gandhi, adding, Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru was nobody in India during the Indian struggle for the Country’s Independence, but Nehru became the first Prime Minister of India after Indian Independence was achieved because of his contributions to the struggle”.

“Similarly, Uwazuruike continued, “If there was no formation of MASSOB by myself,  Barr. (Chief) Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike on September 13, 1999, based on non-violence and non-exodus philosophy, perhaps, nobody will be talking of Biafra today”.

Reminding members of the BİM-MASSOB Organization that one of the footsteps of the Indian apostle of non-violence, Mahatma Gandhi, was that his body was cremated after death, the statement further quoted Uwazuruike as having instructed his followers to toe the similar line of cremating his body whenever he died.

According to the statement, “our leader, Uwazuruike, has instructed us not to bury his corpse or put it inside a casket when he died. He said: When I die, gather used tyres and burn my corpse to ashes. After burning my corpse to ashes, gather the ashes and throw them into the flowing Ezu River, Cross River, Ulasi River, Imo River, River Niger, and other flowing Rivers in Biafra land”.
