The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has invited key stakeholders to a high-level meeting to deliberate on the progress and challenges of the Digital Switch-Over (DSO) initiative.
The meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 16th June 2026, at the Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja.
According to a letter signed by Clementine Usman-Wamba, Head of the DSO Office on behalf of the Director General of the NBC, the forum is designed to facilitate open dialogue, address areas of concern, and align strategies among all parties involved in the rollout of the digital broadcasting project.
The agenda includes welcome remarks by the Director General of the NBC, an address by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, and a presentation on the DSO rollout plan and regulatory framework.
The Director General of NigComSat is scheduled to deliver a technical reliability presentation.
A stakeholder feedback session, chaired by the Minister of Information and National Orientation alongside Mr Tony Akiotu, Chairman of the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria, will follow.
The meeting is expected to conclude with the joint adoption of action points and closing remarks from the Minister.
The NBC has emphasised the importance of stakeholder participation, stating that the meeting will “facilitate open dialogue, address areas of concern and align strategies among all stakeholders toward the successful implementation of the DSO project.”
The invitation comes as Nigeria continues its transition from analogue to digital terrestrial broadcasting, a programme that has faced multiple delays and implementation challenges over recent years.
The commission has urged all invitees to attend and contribute to the resolutions that will chart the next phase of the rollout.
