Described by his loved ones as a pillar of strength, a beloved brother, uncle, and the patriarch of the family, his passing has sent shockwaves across Delta State and the wider Nigerian political landscape.
Dr Uduaghan leaves behind a rich legacy of public administration and political leadership that spanned over a decade and a half. Prior to occupying the highest office in the state, he dedicated his expertise to the healthcare sector and civil administration:
*Commissioner for Health (1999–2003): Formulated pivotal health policies at the inception of Nigeria’s current democratic dispensation.

*Governor of Delta State (2007–2015): Served two consecutive terms, championing various human capital and infrastructural development initiatives across the oil-rich state.
In their emotional statement, the family noted that while his physical absence will be profoundly felt, his contributions to society will remain etched in the hearts of those he served.
“We pray that Almighty God, in His infinite mercy, will grant his soul eternal rest and comfort our family, friends, associates, former colleagues, and all who mourn this painful loss,”* the statement read.
Tributes have already begun pouring in from political associates, former colleagues, and citizens reflecting on his impact on governance in the Niger Delta.
