He staked $770,000, which yielded a total payout of $1,001,000 on the Stake platform, netting him a profit of $231,000.
It will be recalled that the match concluded with a 1-0 victory for Canada, with Stephen Eustáquio scoring a late stoppage-time goal at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
This historic result eliminated South Africa and pushed the Canadian co-hosts into the Round of 16 for the first time.
Drake shared the eye-catching wager on his Instagram account, revealing that playful trash-talking from South African DJ Black Coffee prompted the bet.
Drake has become well known for placing large wagers on major sporting events through Stake, frequently sharing his bets with his millions of followers.
