Hensard University Mourns Loss Of Senator Dickson’s Aide

The management, staff and students of Hensard University in Toru Orua, Bayelsa State, have extended their condolences to the institution’s Chancellor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, over the untimely death of his Special Assistant, Zamani Tanko, a retired police officer.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Sudhakar Kota, offered prayers for the repose of the departed soul.

Tanko was laid to rest on Friday in his hometown in Nasarawa State. In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Senator Dickson, who is also the national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), wrote:

“This afternoon, we laid the mortal remains of my departed aide and brother, DSP Zamani Tanko (Rtd.), to rest in his hometown in Nasarawa State.

“Zamani was a diligent officer and a good man who served with dedication, loyalty and humility till the very end. I pray that Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest and grants his family and all of us the fortitude to bear this painful loss.”

Senator Dickson also expressed gratitude to those who attended the burial, including the party’s presidential candidate, His Excellency Mr Peter Obi, the National Chairman of the NDC; members of the National Working Committee; stakeholders, elders, candidates and others who came to bid farewell to Zamani.

He prayed that God would grant them journey mercies as they returned to their various destinations.
